Title:
Superman: The Man Of Steel
Synopsis:
Synopsis for ”Sins of the Father”
Although Perry White and Franklin Stern disagree on almost everything, they once risked their lives together to foil a racist organization. The sheriff of the small town in which this took place was the father of Alex Trent, the white Bloodsport. In the present, Robert DeBois, the black Bloodsport, is about to be transferred to Stryker’s Island Penitentiary, where Alex Trent is already an inmate (and member of the Aryan Brotherhood). The warden believes this is likely to inflame racial tensions there.
Notes
Perry whitehead had gone to the south as a reporter from the north, and was involved in the racial oppression, which involves police officers in the south. A group of people that were dressed in reddish, orange, KKK, like costumes, without the white color, but the symbolism of the cross were out persecuting and killing black folks, and apparently some others, as you can see their white feet dangling. These were called Supermen, which harkens back to The nihilism of Nietzsche. He called the Aryan race Ubermensch. This meant superman, and ironically in the 30s when the name superman appeared in comics, some may have thought of the Nietzsche, philosophy and Uber Mench of Nazi Germany. Another bit of irony is how involved the newspaper is at the time of the magazine publication, but with time newspapers have very little accurate reporting of racial tensions. Lois Lane and Clark Kent, and Perry White are an extinct breed now. In the irony of it is the black man whose cousin was killed, went off to Harvard, and became a lawyer, and began to think change things, according to Perry white. Both of them agree they were in the right place.
