Eclipso: The Darkness Within

Special one-shot kicking off DC’s 1992 crossover event. The many faces of evil are revealed when the vengeful spirit Eclipso escapes from imprisonment on the moon and begins using a thousand mystic black diamonds to infect and control anyone who gives in to anger and hate. As the dark force spreads across the globe, Eclipso manipulates and possesses heroes and villains alike, including Superman, Batman, Captain Marvel and others, turning them into his pawns. Bruce Gordon, Eclipso’s former host, and a loose alliance of DC heroes race to understand the nature of the diamonds and stop the coming eclipse before Earth falls under total darkness. This issue introduces the new status quo for Eclipso, reframing him as an ancient vengeance demon rather than merely Bruce Gordon’s dark half, and sets up the conflicts that will spill into that year’s DC Annuals and related titles.
