World of Krypton

Superman listens to a taped diary of Jor-El’s found on the Moon years ago. In it, he hears his father speak of his early childhood, his education and how he became a scientist. While working at a rocket research facility he meets and falls head over heels in love with his future wife, astronaut cadet Lara Lor-Van, During a test of Jor-El’s revolutionary anti-gravity propulsion spacecraft, Lara stows away. The spacecraft malfunctions and crashes on Krypton’s larger moon Wegthor. Jor-El then stows away himself on a colonization spacecraft to Wegthor and finds and rescues Lara. Shortly after uncovering the murderous plot of a corrupt Science Council member, Jor-El rescues Lara from the clutches of the malfunctioning Matricomp (matrimony computer), which had blocked their marriage because it wanted Lara for its own android proxy Anr-Mu. The issue ends with the marriage of Jor-El and Lara--an event Superman remembers, since he attended it.
