Synopsis:
Synopsis for "The Floating Furies"

The Metal Men fight the Floating Furries.

The metal men approach doc as he’s in his laboratory and he seems to not want to be disturbed. The metal men are quarreling amongst themselves. Tin says he’s worried about being replaced because he’s only tin. Tina did not pay attention to the sign that wanted her to not disturb Doc Magnus and told doc that ’ Love is blind’, "My responsometer blast off every time I see you !” In fact Doc had built a new responsometer and was ready to replace it. Tina tearfully consents with Gold assisting Doc. When Tina reboots she’s infatuated with Gold. Doc is frustrated by the technological mishap with the responsometer, and maybe even jealous, but the metal men decide to make a sailboat to cool off with all the members of the team being part of the boat except for lead. But lead was made into a giant ramp that launched the sailboat.

While sailing they come close to a floating mine that begins to pull the boat underwater. With them underwater now Doc can no longer give verbal commands to the metal men, but Gold comes up with a plan to dismantle. Tin makes himself into a diving bell. The mine wants Gold as his own possession. Tina is concerned for Gold and asks Iron to help. Gold melts away out of the clutches of the chain attached to the mine. Tina has made a fine platinum net around the mine and seems to be able to hold it Iron makes like a torpedo and gathers up Gold to escape from the mine. As it turns out the mines are telepathic and the mine recruits another one who’s infatuated with Platinum. One mine attacks the other one for perceived attraction to the opposite mechanical sex. In the depths of the sea the jilted mine appeals to Neptune in the right for salvage. Neptune grants the right to the mechanical mine. Neptune also bequeath ed the help f every living sea creature and the sea itself to the mine.

The mechanical mine then exercises Its new found gift to make a harpoon of the sharks that head up to the surface where Doc is being resuscitated on the floating Tin. Tin even makes himself into a shield but is pierced by the Sharks however they were deflected by iron. The mine then summons the power of the waves themselves into a tidal wave. Golden makes himself into several plates which iron hurls like a skipping stone across the water with Doc and Mercury in them. The mechanical mine then sinks Iron down to the sand and states that he will rust from the saltwater. The golden plates themselves were picked up by a giant crab.

Platinum makes herself into a cannon that then launches Lead as a missile from the shoeline, killing or incapacitating the crab, and letting the plates of gold with their occupants cartwheel away. They get on the Jetaway and are flying away from the dangers of the ocean, when a lightning bolt is attracted to Tina and almost takes them out except that she diverts it away from the flying Jetaway. The two furies, or mechanical mines, are both desirous of catching gold or platinum for themselves and create a waterspout that then transforms into a whirlpool, and is sucking all of the metal men and Doc down to the depths of the ocean with Iron. As Doc is being pulled down he is apologizing in his mind to Tina for being so harsh with her and wishing he had never changed her responsometer. When there seems to be no further hope, in a moment Tina sacrifices herself to direct the Lightning Bolt at both of the mines and apparently destroys them as well.

Epilogue Doc is restoring Gold and Tina back into working order, and Tina seems to have her old responsometer back in place with her affections for Doc restored. ⌨️✍️
