Title:
Superman
Synopsis:
"Psi War, Part 3"
Lois attempts to defeat the Psycho Pirate in psychic combat, but the Pirate defeats her and goes to attack Metropolis. Lois uses her powers to awaken Superman from his comatose state. Then, Hector Hammond, attracted to Lois’ new telepathic power, rises from the debris and proposes a temporary alliance. The H.I.V.E. Queen, who barely survived the Pirate’s attack, joins forces with them as well. Her true form is that of a hideous beast and her previous beautiful appearance was just an illusion.
The group agrees to work together and go to Metropolis, where the Pirate has caused all the inhabitants to attack each other. Superman confronts the Pirate, who attempts to use the people as soldiers, but Lois uses her powers to prevent his control over the people. Hammond and the Queen attack the Pirate telepathically and Lois explains that if they remove the Pirate’s mask, they might release the citizens from his control.
Superman rips the mask off, but illusions of Jonathan and Martha Kent tell him to put the mask on. Lois asks him not, revealing that she knows he is Clark Kent. The surprise of the revelation allows Superman to destroy the mask with his heat vision. Lois falls to the ground and Superman goes to her side and cradles her. She had used all her power in a fight and falls back into a coma. Superman tells her that no matter what happens, she will always be his best friend.
After the battle ended, Superman takes Lois to the hospital. In the confusion, Hammond, the Queen and the Pirate escaped and Brainiac, the one responsible for the telepaths’ attack, is still around somewhere. As Superman leaves the hospital, a mysterious force pulls him into outer space.
