In 2017, SAKAI YUJI Zokei Kobo announced Yuji Sakai’s new work and masterpiece, “30cm Godzilla 2016” and released it as a garage kit sometime after. Following this in 2019 was his “Godzilla (2016) 4th Form Awakening Version” which he also modeled as a garage kit.
Sakai has masterfully recreated the epic scene that movie-goers witnessed towards the end of Shin Godzilla (released in 2016) where Godzilla unleashes heat rays from both its mouth and tail while being slammed by an air strike during Operation Yashinori. Every detail on every part has been carefully sculpted, from the large arching tail to the awakened form’s signature gaping jaw, appearing as if it was torn open on both sides.
