Entertainment weekly had a column called Obsessive Fan Of The Week and I was on it on page 12 of their summer double issue.
When you get to the page at the bottom left-hand corner you will see a picture of me with four of my figures. Jack Skellington, Darth Vader, Terminator, and behind me the Grinch.
The caption reads:
“Kevin Newman of Riverside, California, is not only our most 0FOTW, but our most productive as well. Kevin makes “movie figures from many kinds of films, and the thing is... they are full-size!“ Included in his collection are the Terminator, Darth Vader, and a 9 foot tall Jack Skellington. To show them off, he “had a huge display on Halloween which had close to 1,000 people visit in one evening.“ Hope he brought a lot of candy.”
The picture was taken at a store that sold patio furniture and Department 56 Holiday items ( which Sam Hynds and I bought a lot for Christmas train) in San Bernardino.
The place has since closed down.
