Synopsis:

Set in an unnamed American city in the early 1990s, Darkman follows Peyton Westlake, a brilliant scientist on the verge of perfecting a synthetic skin technology that could revolutionize reconstructive medicine. When a ruthless crime boss and his sadistic enforcer brutally attack Peyton and destroy his laboratory, leaving him horribly disfigured and presumed dead, Peyton is taken to a hospital where an experimental procedure severs his ability to feel physical pain while unleashing uncontrollable surges of adrenaline and rage. Surviving and escaping into the shadows of the city, Peyton uses his synthetic skin research to craft disguises and wages a one-man campaign of vengeance against those who destroyed his life and threatened the woman he loves.
