Synopsis:

Glory Road is a 2006 American sports drama based on the true story of coach Don Haskins and the 1965-66 Texas Western Miners basketball team. Newly hired at small Texas Western College, Haskins recruits talented Black players from across the country when he cannot fill his roster locally. In the racially charged climate of the mid-1960s, the team faces hostility, threats, and violence on the road as they rise through the NCAA ranks. Haskins demands disciplined, team-first basketball from his players while they struggle with prejudice from opposing fans, other teams, and even within their own community. Their historic run culminates in the 1966 NCAA championship game against top-ranked, all-white Kentucky, where Haskins starts an all-Black lineup for the first time in championship history, challenging the racial barriers of college basketball and leaving a lasting legacy on the sport.
