Synopsis:
Set in New York City and Holcomb, Kansas between 1959 and 1965, Capote follows celebrated author Truman Capote as he travels to rural Kansas to investigate the brutal murder of the Clutter family, a respected farming household killed in their home by two strangers. Accompanied by childhood friend Harper Lee, Capote immerses himself in the small community and gains unprecedented access to the two convicted killers, Perry Smith and Dick Hickock, while they await execution on death row. As Capote works to complete what will become his landmark book In Cold Blood, his deepening personal attachment to Smith begins to complicate his motives and raise troubling questions about his own moral compromises in pursuit of the story.
