Synopsis:

Set in Boston in the late 1970s, Coma follows Susan Wheeler, a sharp and determined medical resident at a large teaching hospital who becomes suspicious after two of her healthy patients fall into irreversible comas following routine surgical procedures. When her close friend Nancy is among those affected, Susan begins investigating and uncovers a pattern that hospital administrators and colleagues are quick to dismiss as coincidence. Her inquiries lead her to the Jefferson Institute, a facility that houses comatose patients in a chillingly clinical environment. As Susan digs deeper, she finds herself facing obstruction from people in positions of authority and realizes that whoever is responsible for the comas is aware of her investigation and willing to silence her.
