Fists of Fury

Chen Chen is a martial artist who returns to Shanghai to his former school in the early 20th century to attend the funeral of his beloved martial artist teacher and mentor who died suddenly under suspicious circumstances after a short illness. After the funeral while Chen and his fellow pupils are mourning their teachers death, members of a rival martial arts school who are Japanese comes into their school and taunts them, but Chen and the rest of the pupils do not react to them as they don’t want to cause trouble by fighting them, and that is compounded by the continual racist harassment by the large Japanese population in the surrounding area of their school. Later on unbeknown to the rest of the school Chen visits the rival school as he’s had enough of all the taunting and harassment they are dishing out towards him and his fellow pupils and unlike the rest of his school he confronts the problem head on and he humiliates the rival school by beating everyone up using his exceptional martial arts skills, but this headstrong attitude causes bloody repercussions towards his school when the rival school seeks revenge for what Chen had done to them. Along with all that. Chen is also investigating the real reasons behind his beloved teacher’s death, which results in some startling news.
