Synopsis:
In Chicago, Illinois, in the late 1970s, Jake Blues is released from Joliet Prison and reunites with his brother Elwood, and the two visit the orphanage where they were raised only to learn it faces closure unless a large sum of money is raised quickly. Following a visit to their old mentor, a preacher named James Brown, Jake claims to have received a divine mission to save the orphanage by putting their old rhythm and blues band back together. The brothers travel across the Chicago area recruiting former bandmates, staging concerts, and evading an ever-growing convoy of pursuers including state troopers, neo-Nazis, and a vengeful former girlfriend, all converging in a massive chase through downtown Chicago.
