Adapted from Truman Capote’s story. Holly Golightly lives in New York as a call girl although the film skirts this issue. Her neighbor is a struggling writer who makes his living as a kept man. Very much a film of its time, it nonetheless succeeds as a sweet romance. This film made the little black dress an icon that lives on today and cemented Audrey Hepburn as an icon of beauty. An entire generation wanted to sleep with Marilyn Monroe but they wanted to marry Audrey Hepburn.
