Synopsis:

Set in a small New Jersey town called Garrison and New York City in the mid-1990s, Cop Land follows Freddy Heflin, the soft-spoken and partially deaf sheriff of a quiet community that has become a de facto bedroom town for New York City police officers who are not permitted to live in the city. Freddy idolizes the cops around him and has spent his life wishing he could have joined their ranks. When a young officer apparently kills two civilians on a bridge and then vanishes, Freddy stumbles into a sprawling conspiracy of corruption protected by powerful figures within the NYPD. As internal affairs investigator Moe Tilden pushes Freddy to act, he must decide whether his loyalty lies with the cops he admires or with the truth.
