Synopsis:

In the late 19th-century American Southwest, Lieutenant Colonel Kirby Yorke commands a remote U.S. Cavalry outpost on the Texas side of the Rio Grande, charged with defending settlers from Apaches who strike from across the Mexican border. His disciplined military life is upended when his teenage son Jeff, whom he has not seen since infancy, arrives as a new recruit at the fort. Determined to show no favoritism, Yorke treats the boy even more sternly than the other troopers as Jeff struggles to prove himself as a soldier. The situation grows more complicated when Yorke’s estranged wife Kathleen travels to the post, intent on buying out Jeff’s enlistment and taking him home. As family tensions and old resentments resurface, the Apaches step up their raids, forcing Yorke, his men, and his reunited family into a dangerous campaign that will test their loyalty, courage, and love against the unforgiving frontier.
