Synopsis:

Film version of Tennessee Williams’ one-act play has Wood falling for Redford, the out-of-towner staying in her mama Hazel’s boarding house. Owen Legate comes to Dodson, Mississippi to shut down much of the town’s railyard and unexpectedly finds love with Alva Starr, Dodson’s flirt and main attraction. Alva then tries to escape Hazel’s clutches and the town’s.
