Mid-1970s pressing (c. 1975–1976) – Matrix CAS 1074 A-4U / CAS 1074 B-3U. This edition was part of the heavy mid-decade repress campaign when Genesis were rising in popularity. It carries the large “Mad Hatter” Charisma label, replacing the earlier pink scroll, with the catalogue number CAS 1074 at the top and Phonogram distribution credit. The run-outs show later lacquers (4U/3U), cut a few years after the original 1973 issue. The vinyl is housed in a single sleeve reproducing Betty Swanwick’s painting The Dream on the front, with updated Charisma/Phonogram credits on the rear.
Estimated value for a copy in EX to NM condition: £15–£25 (≈ US$20–35). Lower-grade copies generally sell for £8–£10. Collectibility is lower than the first 1U pink scroll issues, but this edition remains an excellent UK analogue pressing for listening.
