P was a short-lived American alternative rock band formed in early 1993 by Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes (vocals), actor Johnny Depp (guitar/bass), actor Sal Jenco (percussion), and songwriter Bill Carter (guitar/bass).
The band’s only release was an eponymous album. It was originally released on November 21, 1995, under Capitol Records. The album was reissued on May 8, 2007, under the Caroline Records label. The band consisted of Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers), actor Johnny Depp (The Kids, Rock City Angels), actor Sal Jenco ("Blowfish” from 21 Jump Street) and songwriter Bill Carter. The additional musicians included on the album were Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Andrew Weiss (Ween, Rollins Band), Chuck E. Weiss (Lightnin’ Hopkins, The G.D. Liars) and Ruth Ellsworth-Carter.
