Fitted with wheels, floats, or skis, the Stinson reliant was a versatile, favorite with sportsman, business executives, and bush pilots. The introduction of – double-tapered wing design in 1936 earned it the nickname gull wing. And more powerful S R reliant – the ATT – 19 – serve served with the British Royal Navy during World War II. But the reliance, most dramatic and innovative service was providing air meal to small cities. Specially, equipped, airplanes snatched and dropped 100 pound male sacks while making low passes over a marked spot or ground rig.
