Station strong, the 1957 Chevrolet heavy duty trucks were a popular choice with fire departments across the nation. Powered by 322 – cubic – inch V8 with a 5-speed transmission this dependable 10500 series truck was purchased new by the Fredericksburg fire company number one in rural Pennsylvania.
Equipped with a 500 GPM main pump and an 850 psi high-pressure fog pump, it can deliver a steady stream of water, even while in motion! It was affectionally named “Hurdy Gurty” by the Fredericksburg Firemen!
It is now painstakingly restored, and is displayed regularly as part of a private collection.
