Santa & The Merry Christmas Wreath is the First Edition in the Shirt Sleeve Santa series. Santa is being kept very busy during his ”off” months. Instead of vacationing and resting up for the big holiday months, he is doing odd jobs around the house. You can’t blame Mrs. Claus for keeping him busy while she has the chance! The particular job Santa in engaged in at the moment is hanging the Merry Christmas Wreath. Santa has his sleeves rolled up, and he is marching off into action. Dressed comfortably in pants, a white shirt and suspenders, with a pair of comfortable work boots, Santa is ready to start the ”honey-do” jobs. His well-worn hammer is made of pewter which is just one of the quality touches to this ornament. But, the real beauty lies in the sculpting of Santa’s face. Donna Lee truly has a gift when it comes to sculpting life and expression into a character’s face, and this Santa is probably one of the best examples of her talent.
