With its bow design and rakish paint scheme, the Granville Brothers aircraft, dazzled spectators as it easily surpassed the fastest airplanes in the world racing at the top speed of 236.2 mph, Lowell Bayles piloted the Model Z to victory in the prestigious THOMPSON trophy race, and took home the coveted prize.
