I first designed and made this beautiful Lion brooch in 2018. It is my humble dedication the real lion, Cecil, who was murdered by an American recreational hunter in 2015 in Zimbabwe. Cecil was approximately 13 years old.
The brooch is 75 x 70 mm and is approximately 6mm thick. It consists of 20 pieces of 3mm thick laser-cut acrylic. This colourful version of Cecil shows a mixture of marble and glitter acrylics. There are also red pieces with metallic gold shimmer in them.
The brooch back is a stainless steel locking pin.
*The acrylic and resin used in this brooch have slightly different variations. The colour and pattern of each piece will vary from the next, making every brooch one-of-a-kind.
