This puzzle is an experiment in creating a double-sided “flip cut“ jigsaw puzzle. We lasercut half of each piece and then flip the puzzle over to cut the other half. This process serves two purposes: it adds an extra layer of challenge by eliminating the telltale thickness of the laser kerf to distinguish between sides, and accentuates the flowing wave patterns of the cut. These intricate lines echo the dynamic energy of Hokusai’s The Great Wave.
