Title:

Up For Grabs

Description:
Saturday Evening Post magazine cover from April 22, 1950 titled Catching the Home Run Ball.
Baseball fans in the stands try to catch a ball while the outfielder is trying to get the batter out.

The ultimate memento to bring home from a baseball game was a foul ball. What the did the ball say on it? Was it scuffed? Who fouled it off?! Should I throw it back if it’s from an opposing team’s homerun? We would bring our mitt’s to the stadium with hopes of snagging such an opportunity when I was little and I can’t say I ever had the pleasure of catching one. Stevan Dohanos achieves this brief yet dramatic effort to both protect oneself in some cases, and to reach out and grasp such a treasure. Anyone can relate to this beautiful puzzle. Who do you know? :)
