The Cathedral of St. Andrew the Apostle in Pitsunda, also known as the Bichvinta Cathedral, is an ancient Georgian Orthodox cathedral located in the coastal town of Pitsunda, in modern-day Abkhazia. The exact date of its construction is not known, but it is believed to date back to the 6th or 7th century AD. The cathedral was an important center of Georgian Christianity and was later used by the Abkhazian and Russian Orthodox churches. The building has undergone several renovations and restorations over the centuries, but it still retains many of its original features and is considered a masterpiece of early Georgian Christian architecture. Today, the cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is open to visitors as a museum.
