Givi Aleksandrovich Dzidzariya (1914-1988) was a prominent Soviet-Georgian historian and archaeologist who specialized in the study of medieval Georgian art and culture. He authored numerous books and articles on the subject, and his research greatly contributed to the understanding and preservation of Georgia’s cultural heritage. Dzidzariya was also a respected public figure who served as a member of the Georgian parliament and as the chairman of the Georgian Writers’ Union.
