He is known for his innovative poetry that blended traditional Georgian forms with modernist techniques. Labakhua was arrested in 1937 during Stalin’s Great Purge and executed the following year. His work was suppressed for many years but has since been rediscovered and recognized as an important contribution to Georgian literature.
