Ensemble "Kavkaz” was created in memory of the sons of Abkhazia and volunteers from North Caucasus and South Russia who died during the Georgian-Abkhazian war of 1992-93 for the country’s freedom and independence. It featured leading artists from Abkhazia and North Caucasus. Over the past 20 years, the ensemble has professionally presented the dance art of the peoples of the Caucasus - Abkhaz, Adyghe, Ossetian, Chechen, Dagestani, etc. on many stages. During its existence, the "Kavkaz” ensemble has become a prize-winner of many festivals and a winner of creative competitions.
