The design is finely engraved with a lined background and decorative corner shields showing the value ”5” at lower left and ”Ct” at lower right. The word ”NEDERLAND” appears in a panel along the bottom. The stamp is printed in a single red color on white paper and shows a circular black postmark cancellation crossing the portrait.
