Title:

Physicians from 13th Century Manuscript

Description:
There are several manuscripts from the 13th century that depict physicians from North Africa, including Algeria. One notable manuscript is the "Kitab al-Tasrif” by Abu al-Qasim al-Zahrawi, a 13th-century Andalusian physician and surgeon who lived in the city of Toledo. The manuscript contains detailed illustrations of surgical instruments and procedures, as well as portraits of physicians from the era, many of whom are believed to have come from Algeria and other parts of North Africa. Another manuscript is the "Tabaqat al-Atibba wa al-Hukama” by Ibn Juljul, which provides biographical information on prominent physicians from the 9th to the 13th century, including several from Algeria.
