Aoudad (Ammotragus lervia)

Description:
The drawing on the stamp is based on a photo.
Ammotragus lervia, also known as the Barbary sheep or aoudad, is a species of caprid native to North Africa. They are typically found in rocky mountainous areas and are well adapted to arid environments. Both males and females have horns, although those of the males are much larger and more curved. Aoudads are herbivores and feed on a variety of vegetation, including grasses, leaves, and twigs. They are also hunted for their meat, hides, and horns, and have been introduced to other parts of the world as game animals.
