Dead Rising 2: Case Zero is a standalone downloadable prologue to Dead Rising 2, developed and published by Capcom. Released exclusively for Xbox 360 on August 31, 2010, the game serves as a narrative bridge between the original Dead Rising and its sequel, offering players a glimpse into the events leading up to Dead Rising 2. 
Plot and Setting:
Set in the small desert town of Still Creek, Nevada, Case Zero follows protagonist Chuck Greene and his young daughter, Katey, as they seek refuge following a nationwide zombie outbreak. After their vehicle is stolen, along with their supply of Zombrex—a medication crucial for preventing Katey’s infection from turning her into a zombie—Chuck must navigate the zombie-infested town to find a new dose of Zombrex and secure a means of escape before the military arrives. 
Gameplay Mechanics:
• Time Management: Players have a limited amount of in-game time to complete objectives, emphasizing strategic planning and prioritization.
• Weapon Crafting: Case Zero introduces the combo weapon system, allowing players to combine items to create more powerful weapons, a feature expanded upon in Dead Rising 2.
• Survivor Rescue: Players encounter other survivors in need of assistance, offering opportunities for rescue missions that can yield rewards.
• Experience Points (PP): Performing various actions, such as defeating zombies and rescuing survivors, earns Prestige Points (PP), which contribute to character leveling and skill enhancement.
