Game Summary:
G-Darius (stylized as G. Darius on the North American PlayStation release) is a horizontally scrolling shoot ’em up in Taito’s long‑running Darius series. Originally an arcade title, the PlayStation port published by THQ in North America brings the series’ trademark aquatic‑themed mechanical bosses and branching stage paths to Sony’s 32‑bit console. Players pilot the Silver Hawk fighter through 2D stages rendered with polygonal 3D graphics, blasting enemies, collecting power‑ups for missiles, bombs, and shields, and facing off against massive screen‑filling bosses across multiple zones. A key mechanic is the Capture Ball system, which allows players to capture weakened enemy ships, turning them into allies that provide additional firepower or can be detonated in powerful explosions.
