Far Cry 2 is a next-generation first-person shooter set in a vast, war‑torn region of Africa. As a mercenary caught between rival factions, you are contracted to hunt down the elusive arms dealer known as ”The Jackal”, whose profiteering has fueled and intensified the civil war. The game features a huge open world of over 50 square kilometers of savannahs, deserts, and jungle, all rendered by the Dunia engine with dynamic weather, day‑night cycles, and highly destructible environments.
You are free to approach missions from any angle, using stealth, sabotage, or direct assaults while managing weapon degradation, fire propagation, and ever‑shifting faction alliances. Buddy characters can rescue you in battle and open up new mission paths, while your actions dynamically shape the conflict and the availability of safe houses and resources. Vehicles such as jeeps, trucks, boats, and a hang glider allow fast traversal across the landscape, and the game’s multiplayer component extends the experience with competitive modes and extensive map‑editing tools.
