September 1998, Raccoon City, located in the American Midwest, fell victim to a large scale outbreak. The cause was a leak of the T-Virus, a biological weapon developed by the international corporation known as Umbrella. People and animals infected by the T-Virus became ravenous zombies who attacked those unaffected. The highly contagious virus swept through Raccoon City with devastating results.
Fearing widespread exposure of the leak, Umbrella deployed the U.S.S. (Umbrella Security Service). Their mission was to destroy any evidence linking Umbrella to the outbreak.
Sensing the irregularity of the situation, the American government deployed its SPEC OPS team into Raccoon City. The SPEC OPS investigation and the U.S.S. mission were on a collision course, guaranteed to bring bloody results.
And so, the secret battle of Raccoon City was about to begin...
