Doom is the granddaddy of horror PC shooters and one of the most influential titles of all time. Released in 1993, the game is divided into three, nine level episodes where you play a hardened unnamed soldier out to stop marauding hordes of demons. Doom was played by an estimated 15-20 million people within its firs two years of release. During its initial run, it’s graphic violence (hard to believe compared to current games) and satanic imagery made Doom the subject of considerable controversy . Many sequels and updates followed.
