Windows desktop app development update

As you may be aware, we’re deep into development of the Windows desktop app that so many of you have been waiting patiently for. We have a number of preorders in, and so we’re looking to get the app out to you in the first half of 2023 (slightly delayed from the earlier estimate of this winter). We’ve had to convert a bunch of our code from one language to another (Swift to C#) to make things work properly on Windows, so it’s taken some extra time. We also have to build a whole new UI from scratch, which is the most time consuming of it all.

Special deal: If you’d like to preorder the Windows app today with a special 10% discount off the normal release-date price, you can do so here: https://www.icollecteverything.com/exclusive-discount/

One of the great things about this upcoming Windows app is that it will use the latest in Microsoft technologies and will be built using WinUI 3, with the latest C# .NET language features and the latest version of Visual Studio on Windows 11. This will keep the app future-proof for quite some time, and will allow us to design the app using some of the best and latest user interface controls Microsoft has to offer for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Currently we’ve completed most of the backend code to make the app function, and we’re currently working on the user interface now to make it look all pretty and functional and tie all the pieces together. We’re expecting it to take at least another few months at this point before we feel comfortable releasing it into the wild, but may offer a preview “beta” version to our preorder customers before that.

That’s the update for now! Thank you for being loyal customers and we’re excited for all of the free upgrades and updates we have planned for 2023.
