Thinking about moving away from CLZ? You’re not the first. We get emails every week from collectors who’ve been using CLZ Movies, CLZ Comics, or CLZ Books for years and are looking for something different. Sometimes it’s the price — five separate subscriptions add up. Sometimes it’s the lack of categories they collect (CLZ doesn’t cover action figures, toys, stamps, or trading cards). Sometimes they just want everything in one app.
Whatever brought you here, this page walks you through exactly how to switch. What transfers, what doesn’t, and how long it actually takes.
Why Collectors Switch from CLZ
We asked. Here’s what they told us:
“I collect movies AND action figures AND board games. CLZ wants me to buy three apps — and two of those categories aren’t even available.” This is the #1 reason. CLZ makes five apps (Movies, Comics, Books, Music, Games). If you collect anything outside those five categories — action figures, Hot Wheels, LEGO, stamps, trading cards, wine, coins, dolls, Funko Pops — CLZ can’t help you. iCollect Everything covers 25+ collectible types in one app.
“I’m paying $75/year across five CLZ subscriptions.” Each CLZ app is around $14.99/year. Collecting across all five categories costs $75/year. iCollect Everything is one subscription for everything — and has a free tier to try first.
“I want a real desktop app, not a browser tab.” CLZ’s desktop experience is web-based through CLZ Cloud. iCollect Everything has native Mac and Windows apps that feel like real software — faster, keyboard-friendly, and they work offline.
“AI Auto-Fill is something CLZ doesn’t have.” Got a collectible without a barcode? Photograph it and iCollect Everything’s AI identifies it and fills in the details. CLZ doesn’t offer this.
How to Move Your Collection from CLZ
The migration takes about an afternoon for a typical collection. Here’s the step-by-step:
Step 1: Export Your CLZ Data
In your CLZ app (mobile or web):
- Go to the menu and find Export or Export to CSV
- Select all items in your collection
- Export as CSV (comma-separated values) file
- Save the file to your computer or email it to yourself
Do this for each CLZ app you use (Movies, Comics, Books, etc.). You’ll end up with one CSV file per category.
Step 2: Download iCollect Everything Desktop
The CSV import works through the Mac or Windows desktop app:
Step 3: Import Your CSV
If you’re a Pro subscriber: Open iCollect Everything on your Mac or Windows desktop, go to the matching collection type, and use the Import CSV option. The app shows a field mapping screen — match CLZ’s columns to iCollect’s fields (Title to Title, Barcode to Barcode, etc.). Click Import and a few thousand items transfer in minutes.
Not a Pro subscriber yet? No problem. Email your exported CLZ CSV file to support@icollecteverything.com and we’ll do the import for you. Just let us know which collection type(s) the file contains and we’ll get it loaded into your account.
Step 4: Verify and Fill Gaps
After import, spot-check a few items:
- Titles, barcodes, and basic details should transfer cleanly
- Cover art will re-download automatically when you scan or search items — the CSV doesn’t include images, but iCollect’s database fills them in
- Custom fields or CLZ-specific data that doesn’t have an iCollect equivalent may need manual attention
Step 5: Sync to Your Phone
Once your collection is imported on desktop, enable cloud sync. Your entire collection appears on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device automatically. From there, scan new additions on your phone and everything stays in sync.

Real Collector, Real Migration
One of our users recently moved 3,600+ movies from CLZ Movies to iCollect Everything. His take: “Took about two hours including spot-checking. The CSV import mapped most fields automatically. Cover art re-downloaded once I opened each item. Only thing I had to redo manually was my custom tags — CLZ stores those differently. But honestly, I should have switched years ago. Having my movies, action figures, and board games in one app is worth the afternoon of work.”
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I try iCollect Everything before canceling CLZ?
Yes. iCollect Everything has a free tier — download it, import a test batch of items, and see if it works for you before you cancel anything. No credit card required.
Will I lose any data switching from CLZ?
Core data (titles, barcodes, formats, dates, notes, prices) transfers via CSV. Cover art re-downloads from our database. The only data that may not transfer perfectly is CLZ-specific custom fields that don’t have a direct equivalent — but iCollect has custom fields you can map those to.
How long does the migration take?
A typical collection (1,000-5,000 items) takes 1-2 hours including export, import, and spot-checking. The actual import process runs in minutes — most of the time is spent on the initial CSV export from CLZ and verifying everything looks right afterward.
Do I need the desktop app to import?
Pro subscribers can import CSV files directly through the Mac or Windows desktop app. If you’re not on Pro yet, email your CSV file to support@icollecteverything.com and our team will import it for you. Either way, once your collection is imported, it syncs to your phone automatically.
What if I collect things CLZ doesn’t support?
That’s the main reason people switch. iCollect Everything supports 25+ collection types including action figures, Hot Wheels, LEGO, stamps, trading cards (Pokemon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!), wine, coins, dolls, Funko Pops, and more. Plus custom collections for anything else. One app, one subscription.
